Abronhill
Bowling Club aims to provide its' Membership with a full Calendar
of Bowling Events throughout the Season from Opening day on
11th April to Closing day in September. These Events are made
up of a full cross-section of games including:
Ladies, Gents & Seniors Club Competitions: these are played
without any restrictions - all members being able to play at
any time of the day throughout the week.
Championship Singles, Presidents Singles, Vice Presidents Singles,
Handicap Singles, Consolation Cup, Pairs, Mixed Pairs, Triples
& Rinks Competitions – These games being run throughout
the Season.
One day events on either a Saturday or Sunday throughout the
season:
Club Mixed Rinks, Bells Trophy, Nominated Mixed Pairs, Mixed
Singles, Open Triples, Alex Rennie Mixed Pairs, Mixed Triples,
Memorial Trophy, Ladies Millenium Triples, Ladies Open Pairs,
Gents Open Pairs, Mixed Open Pairs & the Belhaven Trophy.
Friendlies with other Clubs:
Greenfaulds, Cumbernauld, Condorrat & Clackmannan.
Past Presidents Competitions:
Ladies versus Gents, Mixed Triples, Competition versus 6 visiting
Clubs & Mixed Rinks.
As well as the above, the Club runs a Points night on a Friday
night and a Ladies Points night where teams are made up from
a Ballot of members down on the night and play for Points throughout
the Season, with the players accumulating the highest number
of Points throughout the season playing in a Ladies or Gents
Rinks Final on Finals Day.
The
Monday and Tuesday evenings are continued throughout the close
season, with Monday being Gents games night and Tuesday being
Ladies Bingo night - the Ladies also putting on a host of other
attractions including Hallow'een & Christmas Parties.
As well as the Bowling Functions, Abronhill Bowling Club also
runs a variety of Social events throughout both the Bowling
Season and Closed Season, trying to put on at least one event
a Month, with a variety of Cabaret Acts together with Quiz nights,
Race Nights and Karaoke Nights – all open to Members and
friends.
At Abronhill Bowling Club we also have a vibrant Junior section
open to children aged 8 - 16 years with weekly coaching sessions
and a range of both internal and external competitions, with
the Juniors getting the chance to compete against other Clubs
in Junior Competition both home and away. The Juniors also get
the opportunity to play in some of the above mentioned one Day
Events.
